An after school program is being offered for children (ages 5-12)
Time: 2:00PM - 6:00PM
Days: Monday - Friday
Dates: August - June
Transportation is available from local schools to the Black Belt Academy. There will be time for homework, Karate and
games. We will be closed for Federal Holidays, Thanksgiving (November 24th & 25th), and Christmas Holidays (December
25th - January 1st).
Fees:
$85 per week for the After School Program
$35 per day, $59 two days, $85 three - five days
$45 Pre-registration Fee

Our Philosophy
The purpose of the Black Belt Academy After-School Program is to offer discipline by fostering mental and physical enhancement
as well as encouraging character development. This is done by teaching Martial Arts, encouraging good behavior at Black Belt
Academy as well as at home and school; getting involved with each student, and offering homework assistance. Although this
program is designed to teach discipline, your child will have fun in the process.
School Closings
We provide coverage for certain closings for an additional charge. Please see Master Nigel for specific dates or consult
following calendar:
Black Belt Academy will be closed for the following dates:
November 24, 2008 - November 25, 2008
December 25, 2008 - January 1, 2009
Pick-Up Time
After school care ends at 6:15PM. If you are unable to pick your child up by 6:15PM, please let us know in advance.
After that time, a late fee of $5 will be assessed for every 10 minutes thereafter. Please remember to sign your child out
each day and let us know in advance if someone other than the parent is picking up your child.
Snacks
When your child arrives at Black Belt Academy, he/she will eat a snack provided by our staff. If your child would like
another snack, they may purchase another snack from us. Or if you prefer, please feel free to pack a snack for your child.
Weekly Schedule
Monday - Thursday: Your child will receive a daily 30 minute Karate class.
Friday: Free day for al kids to play video games, watch a movie, or play games with each other. We ask that all children
wear their uniforms every day they attend the Black Belt Academy.
Sickness/Absenteeism
Please notify us as soon as you know that your child will be unable to attend a class. This will allow our program to
run smoothly and eliminate the potential for unnecessary delays in our transportation schedule.
Uniforms
All participants will be issued a uniform during the first week. It is very important that they bring their uniform every
day. Uniforms must be clean and in good condition. We have Karate instruction Monday through Thursday, and the uniform is
required for class participation. If your child repeatedly forgets his/her uniform, on the third occurrence a new uniform
will be issued and your account will be billed for $40.
Personal Belongings
Cubbies will be issued during your child's first week. He/she will be asked to keep all personal belongings inside their
cubby except during the specified time for homework or free play. It is the responsibility of the children to retrieve their
belongings and remove them from the premises at the end of each day. We do not accept responsibility for prolonged or secured
storage. Please keep this in mind when considering what items to carry to class (e.g. Video games, hand-held electronics,
headsets, etc.)
Any clothing or personal belongings left at the end of the day will be placed in "lost and found". Any unclaimed
items will be discarded after five days.
Payment Policies
Tuition is due on Friday for the following week. Payments not received by Friday are subject to the following fees:
Monday payment by 1:00PM with a phone call: $10 fee
If payment is not received by Monday at 1:00PM, we will not be able to pick up your child until payment is received.
If your child is not at school, please notify us by 12:00 noon. Non-notification will be assessed a $10 fee
Should you need to withdraw your child for any reason from the program, we request a minimum of 3 weeks notice.
Returned checks are subject to a $25 surcharge
